Tasks (Alpha)

Work with tasks

Track delivery, ownership, and related work in Tasks (Alpha).

Tasks (Alpha) track an outcome across planning, implementation, review, and completion. Use a task when work needs an owner, dependencies, or several related sessions. A standalone session is often enough for a small independent request.

Create and find a task

  1. Select the workspace and open Tasks.
  2. Choose New task and enter a specific title and a short description of the outcome.
  3. Save it in the workspace's default status.
  4. Add the relevant properties, repositories, and ownership from its detail page.

Search and filter the task list to narrow the visible work. Use Table for sortable rows or Kanban for status columns. Both views operate on the same tasks and filters. Open the task to inspect its description, references, and activity.

Understand status

Workspace statuses belong to fixed categories: Triage, Backlog, Unstarted, Started, Completed, Canceled, and Duplicate. Your team can name the visible statuses, so “Todo” and “In Review” may differ between workspaces.

A status is the authoritative delivery state. Discovery and specification work are planning activities, not a second independent status. Moving a task to a status does not itself launch an agent session.

Owners and admins can configure the workflow and automatic-update targets. Manual status changes pause automatic updates; the task exposes controls to resume them. Read start work and follow progress before treating an automatic status as proof of delivery.

Keep the task concise

Record the objective, constraints, and a small acceptance checklist. Link the source specification rather than copying it into every task. Keep implementation discussion in linked sessions and use task activity for decisions that affect delivery.

Continue with properties and ownership, subtasks and dependencies, and execution progress. Tasks remain Alpha; see availability.
