Start work and follow task progress
Follow linked sessions and understand evidence-driven status changes.
Open the task and review its description, source document, repositories, blockers, and assignment. Use the start-work action offered by the task or ask the responsible agent to start the bounded task. Starting execution is separate from changing the status.
Follow the linked work
A task can link planning, delivery, and reference sessions. Planning sessions develop the outcome; delivery sessions contribute required work; references supply context. A generic session link is not automatically a required delivery contribution.
Open the linked session to follow messages, progress, changes, and outputs. Use the task's conversation and activity to record decisions that affect its overall outcome. Linked specs and bug reports remain the source of their detailed requirements.
Understand automatic updates
When automatic updates are active, Uno evaluates current evidence rather than relying only on the last event:
- Approved planning can move unstarted work to the configured Todo status.
- Required delivery starting can move the task to In Progress when prerequisites allow it.
- Required work with open, non-draft PRs can move to In Review after live turns finish.
- Completion needs satisfied prerequisites and subtasks, passing task acceptance, no live required delivery, and merged required PRs. Non-PR work needs an explicit completion summary.
The names are configurable. “Ready to Merge” is a manual status, and a completed agent turn alone does not complete a task. Automatic updates can arrive after the underlying evidence changes.
Pause, resume, or reopen
A manual status change pauses automatic updates. Use Resume to evaluate the latest evidence again. If completion is blocked, inspect the listed requirement and linked work rather than overriding the status without context.
Terminal tasks stay terminal until explicitly reopened. Reopened work starts a new completion cycle; earlier PRs do not automatically finish it. Task status does not cancel, archive, or launch linked sessions.
