Install and manage skills
Make reviewed workflows available to agents through workspace packages or repository files.
A skill describes a repeatable workflow. Install one when its instructions fit your team's process, or commit a repository skill when the workflow should travel with the code.
Install a workspace skill
- Open Settings → Skills.
- Search the catalog or use the supported import control.
- Open the package preview and read its name, description, and instructions.
- Install it when your role permits the action.
- Confirm its enabled state and resolve any loading error shown by the page.
Popularity can help discovery, but review the content and source before relying on a skill. It can contain instructions to use tools or affect external systems; installing it should be an intentional choice.
Add a repository skill
Put each skill in a folder with SKILL.md under .agents/skills/, .claude/skills/, .cursor/skills/, or skills/. Include frontmatter with name and description, followed by the workflow.

name: verify-search
description: Reproduce and verify activity-search behavior.
---
1. Reproduce the reported query and filter combination.
2. Add a regression test before changing behavior.
3. Run the focused test and report the result.Commit it to the repository. Agents read repository skills from their working branch; the settings index lists discoveries from the default branch. A newly edited branch can therefore differ from the settings preview.
Control availability
Workspace admins can disable individual repository skills or all skills from a repository. Use rescan when the index needs refreshing. Read errors for malformed frontmatter, missing content, or access problems instead of treating an unloaded skill as available.
Workspace installation is separate from committing a repository skill. Neither is proof the workflow was used in a particular turn. See rules and skills and progress.
