Slack

Start and continue Uno work in a Slack conversation.

Connect Slack to start work from mentions and direct messages, then follow the same session in Uno. Engineering is the standard connection. A separate Uno Chief connection appears only for eligible workspaces.

The thread keeps its session

A mention starts work in the incoming workspace. Later mentioned replies stay with the same session even if the default incoming workspace changes.

Connect and choose routing

Open Settings → Integrations → Slack and authorize the bot offered by your workspace. Review the connected Slack team, the default incoming workspace, and any outbound channel selections.

If the Slack team is connected to several Uno workspaces, the incoming default determines where a new mention or DM starts work. Outbound destinations control proactive notifications; they are not an allowlist for incoming requests.

Invite the bot to a channel before mentioning it there. If the connection needs new scopes, use the offered reauthorization flow. Image access can require additional permissions; check the connection message if a file is unavailable.

Start and continue work

Mention the bot with a bounded task, or send it a direct message. A new channel request can include a bounded window of preceding thread context, so make the actual request explicit.

In channels, mention the bot again when sending another instruction in the mapped thread. Ordinary unmentioned replies are ignored. DMs do not require a mention. Existing threads keep their original session and workspace mapping even if the incoming default later changes.

Open the linked Uno session to inspect progress, changes, and outputs.

Answer questions

While clarification questions are pending, the original requester can answer without another mention. Use the offered option number, custom text, or a response such as Q1: 2, Q2: preserve the current layout.

Partial answers stay saved; the waiting work resumes after all required questions are answered. If several delegated sessions ask in the same thread, use the displayed batch identifier to select the right questions. Web and Slack answers stay with the originating work.

Repair a connection

Read the integration's status and reconnect when requested. Check channel membership, incoming workspace, and bot identity before starting duplicate work. Engineering and Chief keep separate connections and thread mappings.
